SF Black MBA Fellowship Program Kick-Off
The creation of the SF Black MBA Fellowship Program for the Evening & Weekend MBA (EWMBA) program addresses disparities that exist in access to higher education. Both organizations share the goal of diversifying business management and leadership representation, and Berkeley Haas has been an NBMBAA® educational partner and sought to further this relationship with our local chapter, where some of our alumni are already active. Our partnership is centered on the aligned missions of the organizations to increase the representation of historically underrepresented students. The Berkeley Haas-SF Black MBA Association Fellowship program and related Berkeley Haas Equity scholarship were created to address disparities that exist in access to higher ed based on financial and other barriers. The SF Bay Area Chapter of NBMBAA shares this commitment to increase access and opportunities to the top-ranked Berkeley Haas Evening and Weekend MBA (EWMBA) Program by supporting local Black professionals through mentoring and professional networking.
Benefits of the SF Black MBA Fellowship Program
Those accepted into SF Black MBA Fellowship become members of the SF Bay Area Chapter of the National Black MBA Association and receive mentorship from members of the SF Bay Area Chapter network who will provide counsel, connections, and guidance throughout their MBA study at Haas. Students also become a part of a cohort and community, have an opportunity to network with the SF Black MBA and Haas leadership, and have exclusive opportunities to connect with the fantastic Black professionals involved in the NBMBAA network. Those interested in the program are also considered for one of the $50,000 Berkeley Haas Equity scholarships, exclusively awarded to selected SF National Black Fellows that most exemplify a commitment to increasing opportunity and access to underrepresented groups.
