Get Involved with the San Francisco Bay Area NBMBAA Chapter!
The SFNBMBAA is dedicated to developing partnerships that create intellectual and economic wealth in the Black community through its five channels of engagement: career, education, entrepreneurship, leadership, and lifestyle.
We are seeking energetic and outgoing members to join our Chapter committees. The purpose of any committee is to perform the necessary work needed to be done by the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter. All positions on standing and ad-hoc committees shall be held by members of the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter in Good financial standing.

Corporate Partner Relations
Director, Corporate Partner Relations: Deborah Watson
This committee is responsible for identifying, developing, and cultivating relationships with corporations in and around the surrounding Bay Area and Greater Sacramento Area. The committee works to convert those relationships into partnerships that will support the Chapter through funding or in-kind contributions. Desired outcomes include increasing the corporate partners’ return on investment through community involvement, employee development, and access to a diverse talent base. Corporate partners host and underwrite events as well as provide scholarships to minority students. An ideal committee member has fund development or fundraising experience. This committee reports to the President.

- Must be members of the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter in Good financial standing.
- Committees will consist of at least three members including the Directors
Entrepreneur & Business Development
Co-Chairs: Candice Kelly & Reginald Chatman
This committee is responsible for utilizing the skills and expertise of the National Organization to facilitate the growth and development of the San Francisco Bay Area African American community in the areas of business and economic development. The committee’s core mission is “enabling entrepreneurship”. Desired outcomes include identifying, developing, and planning programs aimed at uncovering powerful resources and developing the skills necessary to make business ownership a reality. Ideally, this committee will partner with community-based organizations, like the Chamber, that provide resources technical assistance to entrepreneurs and small business owners.

Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT)
LOT® Advisory: Jazmyn Hammons
LOT helps young people learn both how to prepare to take advantage of and create opportunities. Our high school students are exposed to different ways of thinking, various cultures, diverse career fields, numerous colleges, and people who have achieved greatness. In the process, future leaders discover that whatever they want to accomplish in life is within their grasp, as long as they have the discipline, courage, assertiveness, and skills to make it happen. We need mentors and subject-matter experts to help facilitate business case competition preparation and to assist in advancing our students in a positive direction.

- Must be members of the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter in Good financial standing.
- Committees will consist of at least three members including the Directors.
- Must attend Saturday LOT® mentoring meetings.
Membership
Co-Director: Todd Brantley
The Membership Committee is responsible for the recruitment and orientation of new members and creating a retention strategy. This committee also coordinates registration at meetings, tracks memberships, and distributes information.

Marketing and Communications
Director: Faylene Bell
Co-Director: David Huntley
This committee manages the Chapter’s branding, social media strategy and helps to promote activities, programs, and events with the public, including current members, non-members, and corporate partners.

- Committees will consist of at least three members including the Directors.
Programs and Professional Development
Co-Directors: VACANT
This committee delivers a comprehensive range of relevant programs to meet the needs of our members including individual speakers, panel presentations, seminars, and workshops for the chapter, as well as programs in collaboration with other organizations, where deemed appropriate. Chapter programming is based on our Five Pillars of Engagement: education, career, leadership, entrepreneurship, and lifestyle.

Scholarship Committee
Co-Chairs: VACANT
This committee is responsible for establishing scholarship selection criteria, soliciting applications, and awarding scholarships based on funding amounts approved by the executive board.

Social Affairs and Lifestyle
Co-Chair: TBD
This committee is responsible for leading the execution of our social programs to connect business professionals and business leaders in a networking environment. We host networking mixers to connect our members with other professionals in the Bay Area. These events range from structured sessions to informal happy hours. We are seeking “social butterflies” that enjoy connecting with people.

Volunteers
Ad-Hoc Committee
This committee works on short term projects to help put on larger events for the chapter. This is a great committee to join if you cannot commit to serving in a leadership role for long periods of time. This committee is formed as events are being planned.
